SPC flooring and stair installation at Sena Villa

At Sena Villa, we used high-quality, strong, and durable SPC flooring and stairs, installed by a team of expert technicians.

My Work

SPC (Stone Plastic Composite) flooring and stairs must be done systematically because this material is “click lock” and requires a smooth, strong foundation to last for a long time. No deflection It does not bounce.

SPC Flooring Process

1. Prepare the surface (very important)
  • The floor must be smooth, dry and strong.
  • The difference is not more than 2-3 mm per 1 meter.
  • Concrete Floor → Moisture Test (up to ~5%)
  • Original tile floor → can be laid over If not loose/cracked.

If the ground is uneven. Self-leveling is recommended.

2. Pretreatment SPC Sheet

  • Place the plate in the installation area for 24–48 hours.
  • so that the material adapts to temperature and humidity;

3. Lay the pads (if necessary).

  • Some SPCs already have a secondary IXPE → no need for additional paving.
  • If you don’t have → Cover the foam foundation (reduce noise + keep moisture out).

4. Start laying the floor

  • Start from the corner of the room.
  • Wall Margin Spacing 5–10 mm (Expansion Gap)
  • Place the first sheet → the next sheet with the click-lock system.
  • Knock firmly with a rubber mallet (do not use a steel hammer).

5. Pattern Arrangement

  • Random / Brick pattern
  • improves strength and aesthetics;

6. Keep the work edge

  • End cap, T-molding
  • Close wall edge gaps

How to lay SPC stairs

1. Prepare the staircase floor
  • It must be smooth, strong, and square.
  • If there are children sleeping/babies are not equal. → Adjustment must be made first.

2. Cut SPC Sheet

  • Measure the size of the sleeper (step) and the standing ball (in front of the stairs).
  • Cut to fit (use a cutter or saw).

3. Installation (important as different from flat ground)

The ladder does not use a purely click-lock system,
requires:

  • PU Adhesive or Construction Adhesive
  • Shot Silicone Reinforced

4. Install the sequence

  1. Attach the ball first (vertical)
  2. Sleeping Child (Horizontal)
  3. Attach the “Stair Nose” to cover the edges.

5. Keep work

  • Wipe off excess glue.
  • Check the tightness at all points (the ladder must not move).

Precautions

  • ❌ Do not lay SPC outdoors (UV + heat deflection).
  • ❌ Do not lay on uneven surfaces → there will be a “rattling sound”.
  • ❌ Do not use glue on floating floors (except stairs).
  • ✔ Always leave an Expansion Gap
  • ✔ Use the right type of job finisher

Professional Tricks

  • Paving along the light line → the joints are less visible.
  • Long → room along the length of the room.
  • → ladder, choose SPC 4–6 thick. mm or more, it will be more durable.

If you want I can:

  • Calculate the number of SPC sheets from the area size.
  • Recommended a complete set of equipment/tools
  • Or summarize it as a “checklist” for the technician team to use.
