Marking work
Popular marking methods
1. Laser Marking (Most popular)
- Laser engraving onto metal surfaces.
- Provides high clarity, permanent lettering that won’t peel or fade.
- Suitable for steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
- No contact with the workpiece, minimizing deformation.
2. Dot Peen Marking
- Uses a continuous point impact technique.
- Suitable for heavy industrial applications.
- Resistant to abrasion and harsh environments.
3. Chemical / Etching Marking
- Use a metal etching solution.
- Suitable for small-scale applications.
- Lower sharpness and durability compared to laser etching.
The difference between steel and aluminum
- Steel/Stainless Steel: Marks clearly, has a dark color, and is resistant to heat and abrasion.
- Aluminum: Marks quickly; color intensity depends on the type of aluminum and laser power.
(In some cases, it may cause gray/white discoloration on the surface.)
Advantages of laser marking
- High resolution
- Does not distort the workpiece
- No ink or consumables required
- Supports high volume and specific part printing
